At Thursday’s meeting of the Feilding R.S.A. a motion of sympathy with Air. Harry Brooker in the loss of his wife was carried in silenqe.

Air. C, Spiro, late manager of Barnao’s fish shop, of Wellington, has taken over the old established fish market and restaurant of Air. G. Gambitsis, of Fergusson Street, Feilding.

Feilding and Rongotea friends of Mr. Andrew J. Dalton will regret to learn of his death which occurred suddenly on Thursday morning. Mr. Dalton was for many years engaged in farming at Rongotea and was well known there and in Feilding.

A meeting of the Feilding Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club was held on Friday evening, Mr. A. E. Hendry presiding. Details regarding the forthcoming sports fixture were discussed and a programme drawn up. It was decided the meeting be held on Johnston Park next month, owing to the club’s inability to secure the use of Ivowhai Park.

The question of the permanent sealing of East Street, Feilding, which has been declared a main highway, is to be mentioned again to the lVlain Highways Board by the borough authorities, it is understood that plans and specifications have been completed and the council is anxious to have the work done but cannot proceed without the authority ot the Highways Board.
