APPROPRIATIONS TOTALLING £ISOO At a general meeting of shareholders of the Manawatu Co-operative Building .Society held last night the sum of £4500 was appropriated by way of ballots and sales to shareholders. Mr. G. D. Pattle (chairman) presided. There were 25 present. The results were as follow:—No. I group, Mr. G. Mayo, Palmerston North, £500; No. 2 group, Mr. J. E. Blenkinsop, Rongotea, £100; Mr. J . S. McKenzie, Normanby, £200; Mr. G. M. Scott, Feilding, £200; No. 3 group, Mr. J. T. Brown, Palmerston North, £500; No. 4 group, Mrs. A. Mahar, Wellington, £500; No. 6 group, Mrs. E. M. Garth, Wanganui, £700; No. 7 group, Mr. D. G. Ward, Palmerston North, £SOO. The above loans are free of interest to the successful shareholders. In No. 5 group a loan of £SOO went by sale for £lO per £IOO. * Messrs G. H. Neal and R. Taylor acted as scrutineers, to whom a vote of thanks was accorded. Tho shareholders also considered an amendment to the rules and a resolution was passed adopting the rules as amended. A meeting of the board of directors was held after tho general meeting when the following were present: Messrs G. D. Pattle (chairman), G. G. Priest, G. B. Cope and W. Ward. It was decided to approve iinalJy a loan of £SOO in No. 2 group. In No. 5 group a sale of £7OO free of interest loan was approved; in No. 0 group a loan of £7OO was finally completed upon the advice of the valuer. In No. 7 group a loan of £4OO was also approved on the recommendation of the solicitor and valuer.
