LIMITS OP FAIR CRITICISM EXCEEDED Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, July 22. A verdict that tho expressions of opinion exceeded the limits of lair criticism and an award of £SO damages
to plaintiff w&s the finding of the jury which heard the action for libel brought by the Invercargill jockey, George Barclay, against the Evening Star Company. Barclay claimed £5Ol as damages and the jury considered its verdict for ono hour, reaching the conclusion that the criticism was defamatory, that the facts ou which the criticism was based were true, and that the expression of opinion exceeded fair comment.
