MAYOR OF AUCKLAND PRESIDES Ter Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 23. An early settlement of tbe chemical manure workers’ strike Is possible following a long meeting to-day of the Disputes Committee consisting of representatives of tbe employers and employees set up under the Labour Disputes Investigation Act. Tho Mayor of Auckland (Sir Ernest Davis) presided. The meeting began at 10 a.m. alter the luncheon adjournment was resumed. The following statement was issued; "Good progress was made as the outcome of to-day’s deliberations and a settlement is in prospect."
