'Frisco Bowling Tourney
DIFFICULTY IN ARRANGING TRANSFER OF FUNDS Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 8. Difficulty in arranging for the transfer of funds to finance a visit to 'Frisco is being experienced by bowlers in various parts of New Zealand who wish to compete at the Golden Gate Exposition tourney in September, consequently a number of bowlers have abandoned their plans and others are uncertain. “It is possible four or live rinks from New Zealand will make the trip, provided tho transfer of funds can be arranged," said Mr. George Gladding, secretary of the Auckland Bowling Centre, to-day. He added that only one rink had been able tc complete arrangements, and it leaves Auckland on July 24. Any other rinks would have to leave not later than August 8. Rinks in doubt include one from Palmerston North, a second from Auckland and one or two from the South Island.
Tho Auckland rink which is sailing consists of A. J. Parker, former Auckland Club champion (skip), W. Denison, joint holder with L. Maecy of thc
world's pairs title; W. E. Hunt, former Heleusville champion; J. L. Morgan, last year's champion of the Kelburo Club, Wellington.
