Harry Bridges’ Trial Starts To-day
SIGNIFICANT LOCATION OF COURT United Press Association.—By Electee Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Sunday, 9.20 p.m. SAN FRANCISCO, July 9. Tho charges of communism against Harry Bridges (the Australian leader of the Pacific waterfront) have aroused national interest. The hearing will open on Monday on the bleak Angel Island in San Francisco Bay, a short distance from the famous Alcatraz prison. The Judge is James Landis who was dean of the Harvard Law School. The officials have limited the number of reporters to be present. The defence counsel will be led by Miss Carol King, the veteran of the Sacco-Vanzetti trials.
