Painting Her Way Round the World

After in her native town of Berlin, Mrs. Elizabet Delbruck conceived the happy idea of “painting her way around the world” and is at present in Auckland in the course of a tour of the Dominion. Sho stated when interviewed that when she lost her money in the inflation period in Germany she decided to put her talent to good use by adopting it as a means of travel. So successful did her idea become that sho has been live times round tho world exhibiting, painting and lecturing. Sho has lectured in live different languages in universities, colleges and at her own exhibitions in many towns and countries. “My idea in this work is to bring teachers and students in touch with art, not only of their own country, but with that of other cultures,” said Mrs. Delbruck. She added that in her travels she had found the Latin races of South America were intensely artistic, keeping up the old culture of the Spanish race and at the same time willing and eager to learn new forms of art. All countries in which old cultures still lived revealed a keen artistic sense in the people of those countries, this being notably so in India. Mrs. Delbruck has specialised in European art, but has also studied the art of every country. When she leaves the Dominion in about three months’ time she intends to visit Burma, IndoGhina and Siam and will then travel to South-West Africa, where sho hopes to settle.
