INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES
Better Method of Settlement to be Discussed {By Telegraph-Pivm Association. T WELLINGTON, July 7. The Minister of Labour, the Hon. P. C. Webb, announced to-day that he had called a conference of the Employers’ Federation and the New Zealand Federation of Labour for next Thursday in the hope of evolving a more satisfactory method of dealing with industrial disputes in future. He added that, in view of the increase that had taken place in the number of unions registered, both of employers and employees, the Arbitration Court found difficulty in coping with the work coming before it, and the resultant delay had caused dissatisfaction to both sides. It was on account of the impediments and inconvenience that had occurred that he had called the conference to discuss the whole position.
