May Wedding at Holy Trinity Church

McKINXiAY—WILTON The wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church, Woodville, on (Saturday, May 6, of Irene Constance, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Wilton, of Woodville, -and Charles Edward, second son of Mr. W. McKinlay and the late Mrs. McKinlay, of Whangarei. Rev. B. P. Williams performed the ceremony, and Miss E. Wilton, of Hamilton, played “The Voice that Breathed O’er Eden,” and tho “Wedding March.” The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a beautiful gown of corded cream satin, cut on classical lines with leg-o ’-mutton sleeves, trimmed to the elbow with self buttons, while tho bodice fitted to the waist and then fell into a full train at the back. The veil was arranged halo-fashion, with a posy of orange blossoms set on tho top of the head. Her bouquet was composed of white chrysanthemums, lilies and love-in-the-mist, with maidenhair and asparagus fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Annie Wilton, -who wore a tulip *green frock of moire satin, cut on princess lines with ruching at tho neck and puffed sleeves. A small veil of stiffened green net, with a lemon posy, formed her head-dress. She carried a posy .of bronze chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern, and wore a signet ring, a present from tho bridegroom. The best man was Mr. W. McKinlay, brother of the bridegroom. After the wedding a reception was held at the Odd Fellows ’ Hall, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a nigger brown costume and hat, with a fur necklet. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s grandmother, who wore a black and white marocain frock with hat to match. Both carried posies of bronze chrysanthemums.

For travelling the bride appeared in an ensemble of fuchsia Angora tweed and a black tricorne hat, with accessories to match. She also wore a black fox fur, which was the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. and Mrs. McKinlay will reside at Pohangina.
