Crossbred Wool Sells Relatively Well
WELLINGTON VALUES Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 24. The second to last wool sale ot tne New Zealand series was held nere today. The catalogue of 25,700 bales comprised mainly rough and end-of-season descriptions, including ewes. As the sale proceeded, with keen bidding for crossbreds in general, it was apparent that the distribution appeared to be wide spread, but French buyers were not particularly active. Bradford was the chief competitor. New Zealand mills gave their support. The bidding was excited and passings were comparatively few considering the state of the market for finer wools.'
Merino, of which there were a few lots, ranged in offer from 83d to 10$d, but failed to reach reserves, being disposed of after at lOd to 10id. Corriedales did not sell at BJd, but afterwards brought lOfd to IOSd. Good to medium crossbreds sold relatively well, but faulty wools were lower than last Wellington sale. The market for lambs wool was very erratic. Billies and pieces were in fair demand, but were not above the Wellington March level
