Following tho lead of the Wellington Central branch of the Townswomen’s Guild, which has offered its services to the Government, the Palmerston North guild decided on Monday afternoon to offer its services to tho city in view of tho possibility of a situation arising of civic or national emergency. A letter is to be forwarded to the mayor and councillors notifying them of this resolve, and a special meeting of the guild to discuss this move will be called later.
