Pupils of Girls’ High School Remember Anzac

In commemoration of Anzac Day a service was held in Girls’ High School Assembly Hall on Monday morning, opening with the singing of the hymu “For All The Saints,” by the whole school. Mr. M. 11. Oram, chairman of the Board of Governors, read the 44th chapter of Ecclesiasticus, “Let us now praise famous men.” Tho school then joined in tho Lord’s Prayer, after which the principal, Miss Stephens, read from Masefield’s “Gallipoli” part of the account of the actual events of April 25, 1915, from tho early morning landing under fire to nightfall, with a closing reference to the naming of Anzac Cove. The service closed with the National Anthem.
