Little Demand for Sheep

SMALL ENTRIES AT ADDINGTON Per Px*ess Association. 3 CHRISTCHURCH. Last Night. 1 Entries of fat sheep at weekly stcck markot at Addington to-day wore ) considerably smaller than last week. Prices for best lines were a shade 1 better and the others were unaltered. Store sheep: Little change in values. A line of wether hoggets made J4s c.l C to 14s 7d, a pen of ewe hoggets 13s 7d, J older sorts 18s. Ewes and lambs sol-1 ■ relatively well —one pen at 11s Id to 1 11s 6d all counted. t‘ There was little demand for any class of sheep, particularly forward wethers. = The fat *kotp c..:ry was sligatl? n’tre than 4000. Quality wus lacking, tho big proportion being rough, unfinished sheep. Values settled down at very little chan go on those of last week as tho sale proceeded. A few outstanding pons of ewes and wethers were up Is, but there was no quotable change iu U other classes. Extra prime wethers (59) made 35s 4d, prime 29s Cd to 325, prime medium 25s to 28s 6d, others dow-u to 20s. Extra prime ewes brought 28s Id, prime 20s to 245, prime medium 16* 6d to 19s, others down to 11s. The fat cattle entry of 542 was quite - sound. Tho demand was good and tho - quality medium, although at distinctly a lower values that the rates last week, e The decrease in price averaged about i 20s. Good beef mado to 41s per 1001 b, l tops to 435, heavy 35s to 395, secondary y 34s to 365, rough down to 275. Extra prime steers mado to £l9 12s 6d, prime e £ls 15s to £l7 ss, prime medium £l4 to 3 £l6, light to £lO 10s. Extra prime f heifers brought to £l4 2s 6d, prime £ll 1 to £l2, medium £9 5s t<? £lO 15s, light t to £9.
