The Saragossa correspondent of the Daily Telegraph expresses the opiniou that the war will last for an additional winter unless a knock-out blow is speedily administered. General Frarr co’s troops, bivouacking in a blistering sun beside incredibly dusty roads, face the hottest month of the year with the knowledge that a supreme effort to destroy the loyalists will be demanded shortly. General Franco’s troops claim tc have made steady progress near Gandesa. Their superiority of aircraft and artillery compels the loyalists every night to rush supplies across hastilyconstructed pontoon bridges on the Ebro which the rebels destroy at dawn, preventing adequate munitioning and victualling of the loyalists. BOMBING OF BRITISH SHIPS (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 30. The Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mr. R. A. Butler, gave an assurance in a Parliamentary answer to-day that the proposals under discussion, with General Franco for a commission to investigate the cases of bombing of British ships did not imply anj recognition of the legitimacy of indiscriminate air attacks on ports remote from the battlefront or of atempts to establish a blockade by means of aircraft.
