ORGANISER WELCOMED A meeting of the Pahiatua L.R.C. was held at tho Labour office, Dannevirke, on July 30. Mr. Rossiter (chairman) presided over delegates from all over the electorate. Every branch reported progress. The chairman extended a welcome to Mr. Hansen, Labour candidate, who reported that he had overed a portion of the electorate during the last few weeks and found things very encouraging. The chairman also extended a welcome to the new secretary and organiser, Mr. W. H. Oliver, to tho district, pointing out that he was an old and tried servant in the movement, having spent many years organising the party in the Oroua and Manawatu districts, and was an approved candidate of the Labour Party for ten years, and at the last election contested Oroua in the interests of Labour. Owing to the redistribution of boundaries, Oroua has been eliminated, which left Mr. Oliver free to take on organising in this electorate. Mr. Oliver was for many years chairman of the Feilding branch of the Labour Party, also chairman of the Oroua L.R.C., and was chairman of the Manawatu L.R.C. before coming to Dannevirke. Ho is also a member of the national executive of the Now Zealand Labour Party.
