Feilding Aerodrome
MIDDLE DISTRICTS CLUB’S FUNCTIONS In connection with the reorganisation of the Feilding Aero Club, to be known in future as the Feilding Aerodrome (Inc.), it should be made clear that all flying activity in the district will be controlled by the Middle Districts Aero Club which organisation incorporates the Levin, Manawatu and Feilding clubs. Speaking on the subject at the annual meeting of the Feilding Aero Club on Friday, Air. B. Short stated that the succese of future flying activities at tho Taonui aerodrome would depend largely on the support given the Aliddlo Districts Aero Club by the residents of Feilding and district.
Pending the completion of certain ground drainage work on the Taonui property the flying field will not be used but it is expected that the work will be finished in about two or three weeks' time. The unfavourable weather conditions over the week-end decided the club to abandon the programme of flying which had been planned for Sunday last. It is intended to arrange for regular flying displays at tho Taonui 'drome, the idea being that at least one a month be held. Tho Aliddle Districts Aero Club has three planes available for training purposes, two Tiger Aloths and one Porterfield machine which is a cab ! n type.
