TIAKITAHUNA There was a good attendance at the July meeting, when Mrs. C. Croucher presided. It was decided to scud a donation to the Chinese and Spanish children’s relief fund. A subscription was also sent to the conference fund. A box lecture on rug making, from Massey College, was enjoyed. A competition for an impromptu speech was held, and by popular vote Miss E. McEwen was first with a talk entitled “Money.” Mrs. C. Croucher -was second with “Trees” and Mrs. D. Rowland third with “Gardening.”’ The competition for the best flower was won by Mrs. C. Croucher, with Mrs. Hearsey second and Miss M. Rowland third. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Hawke, W. McEwen and Miss I, Fell.
