CANTERBURY CLUB RETURNS HOSPITALITY At tlio Orange kail a largo gathering was seen on Saturday night, when the Canterbury Club gave a very enjoyable dance, members of the Otago Club being entertained. Items were contributed by Mrs. Prince (piano-accordeon solos), Mr. J. Mason (mouth-organ solos) and Mr. Paddy (recitations). An excellent supper was served by the ladies committee, which consisted of Mesdames It. Livingstone, W. C. Murray, G. W. Braddell, G. Farrar and A. C. McPherson. Mr. J. L. C. Merton was M.C. SCOTTISH FOLK BRAVE THE ELEMENTS The wintry weather of /Saturday evening did not prevent the Manawatu Scottish Society's fortnightly inglesidc from attracting its usual largo crowr, for the hall was again taxed. Mr. V. J. Rowlands, with the assistance of a professional orchestra, submitted a wellsoleited programme of old-time dances.' After supper, Mr. A. Houston played pianoforte music for au extra dance. Mrs. Morgan, senr., and Mr. R. Morgan were awarded the Monte Carlo waltz prizes, and Miss M. Peterana and Mr. A. K. Godbaz won tho lucky partner Gay Gordons.
