Obituary
MR. W. E. YEWEN FORMER PAHIATUA RESIDENT The death occurred in Wellington Hospital on Sunday last of Mr. Walter Edward Yewen, a former well-known resident of Pahiatua. Born in Holy Trinity, Gloucester, iu 18(38, Mr. Yewen left England at an early age, and was educated at Akaroa, South Island. He later spent seven years at sea before taking up residence in Pahiatuu. Jn 1895 he married Miss Letty Elizabeth Coe and continued to reside in Pahiatua until 1926, since which time he had resided in Wellington. Mr. Y r ewcn is survived by his wife, six sons, Messrs. Walter and Roy (Pahiatua), Leonard, Bertrand and Norman (Wellington), Frank (Tuai, Waikaremoana), and one daughter, Mrs. C. Futter (Lower Hutt). The funeral, which was held at the Pahiatua Cemetery on Wednesday, after a service hei<* in St, Peter’s Anglican Church, was conducted by the Rev. H. Wilson. The pall-bearers, both at the church and the graveside, were the six sons of the deceased, many beautiful floral tributes being received.
