Nicaraguan Canal Proposal Shelved
EXPANSION OF PANAMA FAVOURED United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 10.45 p.m. WASHINGTON, April 6. The Administration has shelved the proposed thousand million dollar inter-ocean canal across Nicaragua, and instead is considering expanding the Panama Canal at a cost of 200 millions, increasing its capacity fivefold.
