Huge Tourist Liners Leave for Dominion

HEADING FOR MILFORD SOUND Received Wednesday, 11.40 p.m. MELBOURNE, April 6.

Having completed rapid tours of Sydney and Melbourne, the wealthy tourists on the luxury cruising liners Empress of Britain and Reliance left Melbourne to-night for New Zealand. The first call will be Milford Sound, which they have been informed is the greatest sight they will see on the whole cruise. Extraordinary scenes marked the arrival and departure of the Empress of Britain to-day. It is estimated that 250,000 people visited Port Melbourne to see the two vessels. Hundreds of police were needed to regulate the ca; - traffic. The wharf was jammed with a solid mass of people as the Empress of Britain sailed at 6 p.m. The Reliance left at 7 p.m.
