Beaconsfield
On Saturday the final between Halcombe and Beaconsfield tennis teams for the Guy Cup resulted in a win for Beaconsfield by 10 sets 77 games to 6 sets 62 games. The match took place at Cheltenham before a •large crowd of spectators, who were treat- | ed to a good exhibition of tennis by both I teams. The result was in doubt until the last four sets, when Beaconsfield went ahead. The following are the results of the games:— Men’s singles: J. Stewart beat G. Hamilton, G. Coggin lost to M. C. Amadlo, E. Buchanan heat J. O’Sullivan, D. French beat L. Anderson. Women’s singles: Miss M. McLean heal Miss McLennan; Mrs J. Stewart beat Mrs R. Managh, Mrs G. Fitzpatrick beat Mrs M. C. Amadio, Miss M. French lost to Miss D. McNae. Men’s doubles: Stewart and Coggin beat Hamilton and O’Sullivan; Buchanan and French lost to Amadio and Anderson. Women’s doubles; Miss McLean and Mrs Stewart lost to Miss McLennan and Mrs Managli; Mrs Fitzpatrick and Miss French lost to Mrs Amadio and Miss McNae. Combined doubles: Stewart and Mrs Stewart beat Hamilton and Mrs McLennan; Coggin and Miss McLean beat Amadio and Mrs Managh; Buchanan and Mrs Fitzpatrick'beat O’Sullivan and Mrs Amadio; French and Miss French lost to Anderson and Miss McNae. Cribbage Club. The annual meeting of the Beaconsfield Cribbage Club was held on Saturday night when the following officers were elected: Captain, Mr D. Old; vice-captain and secretary, Mr D. Rutherford. The annual meeting of delegates of the Country Cribbage Association takes place on Monday night.
