Power Extension
VALLEY FARMS DISTRICT From Our Own Correspondent. HASTINGS, Feb. 25. Th«r extension of the electric power service to the Valley Farms district at Maraekakaho has now been completed, and it is the intention of the Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board to liven-up the line next Wednesday. At the present time the board has several extensions of the service throughout its district under consideration. This week men started out on the work involved in providing power to the settlers in the Dartmoor-Hakowhai area, beyond Puketapu. “It is impossible to forecast just when the work will be completed and when we shall be able to lfven-up in that area,” said Mr H. H Wylie, managing-secretary of the board, this morning when commenting upon the extensions being pursued by the board. “It will be a month or two at any rate,” he added.
Mr Wylie intimated that it was proposed to commence next week with the Te Aute extension, the difficulties encountered regarding the private telephone lines having been overcome.
