National Choice for Rangitikei
MB. E. B. GORDON CHOSEN (Special to “Times”), MABTON, Last Night. A ballot held ia National Party circles this evening to select one cr four nominees to contest the Rangitikei seat at the next genoral election, resulted in the selection o t Mr. E. B. Gordon, fanner, of rent Flats, Marton. The other nominees were: Mr. A. Stuart, Marton, who was defeated as Nationalist candidate at the last election; Mr. T. C. Lowry, farmer, of Taihape; and Mr. W. J. Crawford, printer,,of Palmerston North, who was a Democrat nominee at the last election. The meeting was attended by over 150 delegates, Mr, Justin Power, secretary of the Wellington Division headquarters, presiding. Each nominee addressed the meeting for ten minutes. Mr. Gordon’s selection was made without preliminary elimination ballots.
