Cinema in Schools
An instructive demonstration of cinematograph for use in school ivas given recently at the Longburn School. The projection demonstrated to those present what be done in education with the aid of such a machine.
The school committee is investigating the possibility of acquiring a machine for the school. A wide range of films covering various topics is available in England and America, where visual education is more firmly established. Sixteen millimetre films are used. The timemay not be far distant wehu New Zealand schools will all be equipped with projectors and obtain films through a central distribution service. This would certainly be an important stop forward in the advancement of education in our country.
