Beaconsfield

- From Our Own Correspondent. On Saturday the Halcombe tennis team journeyed to Beaconsfield. but only one and a half nets were played before the rain commenced. It rained very heavily, I. inches falling in the first hour, after which it rained steadily until about 5 p.m. Afternoon tea was partaken of. All the matches are to bo replayed next week. During the week-end a tennis team from Silverhope journeyed to Beaconsfield and the only times that tennis could not bo played wtis about lunch and afternoon tea time. Sixteen sets, all doubles, were played, each team winning eight sets, but Beaconsfield won by 75 games to 68. Details are as follow: Men’s doubles: J. Joll and J. Lourie beat G. Coggin an 1 E.
