Public Reception to Mr. C. L. Hunter, M.P.

In order that their patrons may be free to attend tho reception to Mr. G. L. Hunter, M.P., on Saturday, the Foresters Lodge has decided to forgo its usual card party and dance on that evening. The fact that Feilding will be the main town, as well as a very convenient working centre for electioneering activities in the new Manawatu electorate has induced Mr. Hunter to take up his residence here, and the interest he has taken in local affairs since his arrival indicates that Feilding has gained a valuable personality in the present member for Manawatu electorate. The members of the Feilding branch of the Labour Party are sparing no efforts to m£;ke the evening worthy of the occasion and have been fortunate in securing Reid’s accordeon band for the dance. As this band is recognised as one of the most entertaining and efficient musical combinations in the district, a very enjoyable evening is assured. On this occasion, also, his Worship the Mayor will officially welcome Mr. Hunter.
