MANCrAWEKA EWE FAIR. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report on the Mangaweka ewe fair held on Thursday last, 10th inst. “There was a large entry comprising annual drafts from the surrounding districts, which came in in splendid condition, considering the dry summer experienced. There was a large attendance of outside buyers from the Waikato, Taranaki, Wanganui and Manawatu districts, who bid keenly for ill good lines of ewes at prices showing an appreciation of fully 1/- per head on recent sales. There was a. good entry of 2-tooth ewes, which included a ::ew pens of outstanding quality, buyers showing preference for this class. We report a total clearance, and the sale generally can be termed as tho most successful held this season. The top pri ;o of the day was 39/1 for a pen of outstanding 4-year ewes sold on account of Mr F. P. Dickenson. This vendor also obtained 3G/8 for a pen of G-tooth ewes;. In the i!-tooth section Mr AY. A. Davidson tupped the market at 3S/10 for a pen o f exceptionally well bred and good conditioned sheep. In the in £ fin section we offered some outstanding pens of 4 and 5-year ewes, Messrs Green Bros, topping the market at 30/5 for their annual draft of 4-year ewes. Mr Davidson obtained 2S/5 for his draft of 5-year ewes; Mr C. F. Dalgety’s 5-year ewes realised 27/10 and Mr F. H. E. Gorringe’s draft 27/7. We also quote o i account of Messrs A. and P. Moyle 2tooth ewes 30/3, 4 and 5year ewes 2S/6; Mr G. G. Toms 4-year ewes, 2S/G; Mr D. F. Gorringe 5-year ewes, 25/9; Mr John Green 2-th ewes 32/-; 4 and 5-year ewes, 28/8; Messrs Green Bros. 4th ewes, 35/-; Mr J. Dickson, 5 and C-year ewes, 22/-; Estate J. A. Glenn, 2-th ewes, 2S/G to 31/-; 5year owes, 23/-; Mr P. W. Reilly, 6year ewes, 1 S/S; Mr A. G. Pearce, 4 and 6-th ewes, 23/-; 4 and 5-year ewes, 22/-; Mr A. Ross 6-year ewes, 19/6.
