Allegation of Libel
CASE UNTIL JUNE 18 From Our Own Correspondent. NAPIER, May 25. a lioel action set down for hearing * his morning in the Napier Magistrate 's Court was adjourned until June 18, and the case will now be completed at Hastings. Harold Kay, of Napiier, labourer, represented by Mr S. H. Morrison, is claiming £lO from Charles Jennings, of Hastings, labourer, for alleged libel in connection with a recent meeting at Hastings of the Hawke’* Bay General Labourers' Union. Mr W. Selwyn Averill appeared in defence. It as expected that the hearing of the case, in which more than a dozen witnesses will be called, will occupy thr major portion of the dav.
