Pleasing Features At Broadway Cabaret

DANCERS SPEND HAPPY EVENING Many novelty numbers were enjoyed at the monthly cabaret held by Miss Gwen Gibbs in her Broadway studio on Saturday evening. The guests were received by Miss Gibbs, who woro a distinctive gown of black cotele relieved with white pique and a white spray at the neckline. Assisting Miss Gibbs were Miss L. McAffer, who had chosen a gown of floral georgette in palo mauve tonings, Miss M. Pegden, in brown and beige satin fashioned on peasant lines, and Miss L. Major, in pale green floral georgette and satin.

Excellent music was provided for the dances by a professional orchestra. A graceful fan dance by Miss McAffer and a lively tap ballet by the B.S.D. ballet were pleasing features of the evening.

A delicious savoury supper was served and this happy function terminated at midnight. Dancers will look forward with pleasurable anticipation to the next function which is to be held on Boxing night instead of the usual Saturday. Among those present were Misses L. Ireland, R.ix (Auckland), B. Smith (Woodville), M. Hadiield, I. Blair (Mastcrtoii), J. and J. Hamilton, M. Bodgers, L. King, B. Collins, P. Betts, Messrs J. Ireland, T. Luxmore, G. McEwen, B. Millar (Wellington), G. McKay, B. Smith (Woodville), B. Young, E. A. Beed, I. Major, J. Reynolds and R. Caulder.
