A very, dainty afternoon tea was served by the local ladies. Mrs.' W. Fergus (president of the Presbyterian Guild) presented the prizes won that afternoon and also the points pirze for the year, in which Miss M. Pryde was only one point ahead of Miss E. Fergus.
Mrs. Fergus thanked all who had attended and helped to make the afternoon so successful, especially those who had come from Pahiatua and Maugatainoka. A small bring and buy stall under the capable charge of Miss Mina Pryde was soon sold out. Mrs. W. D. Harris (president of the Anglican Ladies’ Guild) at the conclusion of the function thanked their hostess and her daughter, who had not only placed their home at their disposal, but had made most complete arrangements for the smooth working of he whole function. Mrs. and Miss Fergus wero accorded a hearty round of applause. Mrs. Harris mentioned that the proceeds of the gathering, which wero quite substantial would be divided equally between the Anglican City Mission Christmas Cheer fund and the Presbyterian Orphanage Christmas benefit, so all who had attended would feel that their presence that afternoon would enable some less fortunate individual to spend a happier Christmas.
