Presbyterian General Assembly Meets
NEW MODERATOR ELECTED Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand opened in St. Paul’s Church this evening. The opening session took the form of a service of praise led by the combined choirs of the city churches and the only business was the election of the Right Rev. T. H. Roseveare, of Papatoetoe, as Moderator. Rt. Rev. H. H. Barton, the retiring Moderator, preached on the subject of ‘‘Standing fast in a day of crisis,” and Mr. lloseveare’s address after his election was ‘‘Evangelism, Our Unique Work.”
