The Pig Market

No change in values occurred on the pig market this week. At Westfield the bidding was brisk but prices remained on a parity with last week. Bacon 55d to 6d, pork 5d to 51d. At Levin pork sold at the good prices gained the previous week. Schedule Bates. Australian Values. Queensland market reports: —Messrs Coe and Highfield held a pig sale, when bacon pigs were worth 45d per lb. over the scales. A good yarding of porkers came to hand and were worth 4Jd per lb. over the scales. There was a small yarding of store pigs, and prices showed a decided rise on previous sales. John Allman held a sale and the following are seme of the prices realised:—Prime bacon pigs, £2 7s 6d; medium, £2 to £2 ss; porkers, £1 5s to £1 10s; large stores, 2.1 s to 245; medium, ISs to 20s; slips, 10s to 12s 6d; suckers, small, 4s to 4s 6d.
