Ring Competitions at the Show

HIGH STANDARD OF JUMPING AND PONY TROTTING

Jumping and pony trotting competitions, the oval attractions at tho Winter Show yesterday afternoon, were watched by many spectators. In two of the events there were over 20 horses, and the standard of competition was very high. The judge, Mr T. Caverhill, of Masterton, expressed himself as being very pleased with the performances and said some outstand-ing-horses had taken part. There were no spills during tho afternoon. Results of the various events were as follow: Pony Trotting, under 13 hands Ivan Mallett’s (Kairanga) Nugget 1 Miss K. Long’s (P.N.) Mifty .... 2 Miss Dell Adsett’s (Colyton) Blue Paddy 3 Five competitors. Pony Trotting, 13 to 14.2 hands T. Sexton’s (P.N.) Dolly 1 Miss Doris Walker’s (Colyton) Glen 2 D. B.
