WELLINGTON, Last Night,
The recent depression is passing eastwards but another though a less intense one is advancing across the south Tasman Sea. The pressure 1 is still high over eastern Australia and the north Tasman Sea.
Winds: Moderate to strong southerly’ over the northern half of me North Island, elsewhere moderate and freshening westerlies but winds shortly again becoming south-westerly gener- ; ally. Seas (New Zealand waters): -Rough about Foveaux Strait, rather rough to rough on the West Coast,. elsewnorc moderate but later rising south of East Cape. Eastern Tasman Sea: South-westerly to southerly winds moderate with moderate seas in the northern portion; strong at first with rough seas in the southern portion but later moderating. Weather: Cold and changeable with scattered showers; mainly fair, however, in eastern costal areas and conditions later gradually improving in most districts.
