Coming-of-age Party At Tiakitahuna
On Wednesday evening there was a large family gathering at Fairdale, the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. Fell, in honour of the coming-of-age of their daughter Isobel. Mrs. Fell received her guests wearing a dress of mulberry wool lace, while Miss Fell was charmingly attired in marina blue lace, trimmed with velvet ribbon of the same shade. During the evening the following solos wero delightfully rendered by Mrs Fell, "Josephine,” "The Hawke,” “Salaam,” “The Burning Hours.” Mr. L. Bindon sang, “Mother Macree,” and "Melisande in the Wood.” Mr. E. Nielsen contributed “Requiem,” “Abide with Me,” and Miss Margaret Fraser recited "Punishments and Rewards.” Some amusement was caused when a littio black cat came running in friendly fashion amongst the guests. No doubt to those who believe in luck the advent of the little black cat would portend a good omen for the guest of honour. Miss Fell was the happy recipient of many beautiful gifts. Amongst those present were Mr and Mrs N. P. Nielsen, Mr and Mrs C. Fraser, Miss E. Voss, Mr and 11. Voss, Mr and Mrs M. Voss, Mr and Mrs E. P. Nielsen, Mr and Mrs L. V. Bindon, Mrs and Mrs C.
