A pleasant surprise party was held at the home of Mrs C. A. Ferguson, 124 Lyndhurst street, of Friday afternoon, when she was visited by members and friends of the Ladies’ Guild of the Cuba Street Methodist Church to welcomo her back to Palmerston'North. Afternoon tea was partaken of, after which a competition was held, being won by Mrs Fisher. Those present were Mesdames Meller (2), Allsop, Fisher, Morgan, Anderson, Crcswell, Budden, Newman, Winton, Walker, and Miss Maidwell. Apologies for absenco were received from Mesdames Ilodder, Buncos, Candy, Richards, Ellis and Coghill. An enjoyable afternoon was brought to a close with the singing of musical honours. Mrs Ferguson was the recipient of many useful gifts for the pantry.
