Bridge Party at Cheltenham

Mrs W. G. Booth, gowned in black lace, entertained a large number of friends on Saturday evening at a very bright and successful bridge party for tho Cheltenham Women’s Institute carnival queen, Miss Joan Billman. Mrs Billman, who was among, those present, wore black lace and georgette relieved with shell-pink, and her daughter was in a pretty little creation of floral crepe de chine. Beautiful roses in ail shades had been gathered by Mrs Booth to adorn her home, the effect being altogether charming, and bridge was played on the sunporch as well as in the living-room. The top score, prizes were won by Mrs J. Williamson (Waituna) and Mr L. J. Carmine (Feilding), and thq prize for tho hidden number was carried off . by Mr N. Hocken (Colyton). Tho quoen candidate was the lucky winner of a competition. On Friday a street stall ■ was hold in Feilding for Miss Billman with very satisfactory results. A large and assorted : amount of produce was forthcoming from town and country friends, and was readily disposed of. Those in chargo of the stall woro Mesdames E. E. Short, F. G. Billman and Shepherd (Choltonham), who were assisted by several younger members of the - Cheltenham W.I.
