Championship Cycling at Wellington
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Wellington cycling championships were held at Petone oval on Saturday. The 1000 metres event was partially robbed of interest by the disqualification of R. Ulmer, but the finishes were exciting and racing good. Results were: — 1000 metres: Les Sowerby 1, Len Sowerby 2; time, 13 2-ssec. The tima was for the last furlong. 800 yards junior: R. Roe 1, W. Keighley 2, H. Biggs 3; time, 63 T-nsec. 1 mile junior: H. Biggs 1, G. McGurk 2,'W. Keighley 3; time, 2.7 4-5. 1000 metres time trial: R. Ulmer, 1.18 2-5, 1; T. Roe, 1.20 1-5, 2; Len Sowerby, 1.20 25, 3.
