“Hoodoo Ship”
MANY MISADVENTURES CAPETOWN, Dec. 16. Living up to her reputation as “the hoodoo ship of the Indian Ocean,’' the four-masted auxiliary vessel St. Germain put into port here yesterday with engine trouble. ' She has experienced most of the misadventures to bo encountered on the seven seas, including a collision and a mutiny.
Recently she was towed from Reunion to Durban, wlioro the crew refused to work. She was then reconditioned and loaded with manganese ore for Rotterdam.
Three years ago, while in harbour here, she was attached iu connection with a claim for damages following a collision at Dakar (West Africa).
