Feilding Anglican Church

CONFIRMATION SERVICE The continuation service at St. John’s Anglican Church, Feilding, on Friday night attracted a very large congregation when 35 candidates, including 24 boys, were confirmed. His Lordship, Eight Lev. Bishop of Wellington, Dr. Sprott, who was making his last official' visit to the parish, conducted the service, while Ven. Archdeacon F. H, Petrie, M.A., acted as chaplain. The confirmation hymns were led by the full choir. His Lordship’s text was chosen from Psalm 27, verse 14 to the end, and his subject “Courage.’-' Ho drew a strong contrast between courage and recklessness and between courage and not knowing fear. The theme of liis Lordship’s address was the urgent' necessity of daily prayer. During his short stay iu Feilding tho Bishop of Wellington was the guest of Mr and Mrs C-. A. -J. Levett, Ranfuri’y avenue.
