From Our Own Correspondent. Members of the Foxton Surf and Eifo Saving Club were more than gratified with the outstanding success, both socially and financially, . of their dance, which was held on Tuesday evening. Tho large gathering included many visitors who travelled in buses from Palmerston North and Levin, and in addition many were present from Shannon and various other parts of the surroundijig district. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr G. K. Shaw (club captain) and extras for dancing were supplied by Mr Jack Newton. A Monte Carlo dance, which was held, was won by Mr It. de Bidder and Miss N. Stowers. The Mayor (Mr M. E. I’erreau) announced that Mr D. Thompson had been selected as the winner of the trophy for the most improved member of tho Foxton Surf and Life Saving Club during the past season. This annual trophy, in the shape of a silver cup, is presented by an anonymous donor, for competition each year, and is won outright. Supper was handed round by members of the club, after which dancing was resumed and continued until the early hours of the morning. Among those present were: Misses E.
