Over the week-end the men of the Oroua Downs Golf Club played a bogey competition in very unpleasant conditions. Results are as follows: N. C. SlcAffer, E. Conlan and SI. Slills, all square;

tu, where both were easily defeated; the former by 28 gams to 8 and the latter by 24 games to 12. The teams were: A.—R. Shailer, J. Stratford, A. Hobbs, Misa J. Jarvis, W. Jarvis, and R. A. Nichols. B.—W. Dalgety, F. Dalgety, L. Dunham, D. Mitchell, S, Woods and J. Hehir. Personal. Mr E. Conlan has returned from a holiday spent in Rotorua. Heavy colds and bronchial influenza have been experienced by many in the district recently. Several light frosts w.ere experienced last week.
