From Our Own Correspondent. The annual meeting of tho Sanson branch of the Workers’ Education Association was held on Thursday evening, Mr. G. L. Francis presiding over a fair attendance. . The election of officers for tho ensuing year resulted as follows: — President, Mr. .1. W. Masters; secretary, Miss M. R. Mac Faria ne. It was decided to hold tiie meeting this season on Monday evenings. The first meeting will be held as soon as the lectures arrive from Christchurch. An endeavour is to be made to increase the membership. Cricket. The Sandou Club further consolidated their leading position by defeating the Wesley team at Kowhai parlt, Feilding, on Saturday by 24 runs in the first Innings. Batting first, Sandou compiled the moderate score of 112. A. S. Reeve gave a fine display in his score of 39, and G. Hancock and L. Meads also scored double figures, compiling 18 and 16 respectively. O. S. Bdelston compiled a useful score of 43, being tho principal scorer for Wesley in their first innings. R. Montgomery was successful in getting the ’’hat trick” in the first innings, and 6 wickets for 18. In the second innings, Sandon declared with 2 wickets down for 11S. S. L. Kent, not out, again demonstrated bis usefulness with the bat by knocking up 59. L. A. Sadler (33) and L. Meads (21) also put up a creditable stand. Sandon, first innings: L. A.
