The first day of the Geraldine spring ,nesting was held in unfavourable weather. There was steady rain during the last race. The track was in good order and the attendance was good. The totalisator handled £7121 10s, against £6875 10s for the first day last year. There was an inquiry into the preliminary to the RaUkapuka Handicap, iu which Dollar Prince cannoned into Jacobin, ridden by' W. Jenkins. Dol lar Prince was injured and was scrathcd.
