WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS In continuation of the hockey competitions in Palmerston North on Wednesday thero wero three senior matches and one junior event. Phoenix, the competition winners, wore well held by Broadway who wore playing four juniors. The game ended in a draw one-all, both goals being scored in the first 'half. Findlay netted for Phoenix and O’Brien for Broadway just as the spell ended. He made it a solo offort, beating the defence to neatly turn the'ball into the goal with a back-hander. In the second spell Phoenix missed a number of scoring chances. C. 0.8. beat Palmerston 5-nil in a holiday game. The goaf-getters were Bentley, Smith, Iloare, Eckersloy and Sutton. Massey College had mostly their own way against P.D.C., whom they defeated 5-1, goals being scored by Murray (2), Frerichs (2) and J. Suckling for College, and Ward for P.D.C. Feilding defaulted to Combined Services. In the junior section Broadway (Johnson, Jones, Scales) beat Massey College (Tiffin) 3-1. Combined Services won by default from Phoenix.
