An Afternoon at Cheltenham

PRESENTATION TO MISS MARGARET LEITCH. A party for Miss Margaret Leitch was given on Saturday afternoon by tho members of tho Cheltenham Tennis Club at "Waipapa," tho home of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Sinclair. The drawingroom was delightfully arranged with cinnerarias, Iceland poppies and foliage and a very jolly timo was spent with table tennis, games and competitions. The winners were: Mrs. Leitch, Miss Lcitcli, Miss E. Hill, Mr. F. Hill, Mr. C. Petersen and Mr. D. Sinclair. Following tho serving of a very dainty afternoon tea, Mr. Sinclair (president of the club) on behalf of the members asked Miss Leitch to accept a handsome, brush and comb set and voiced their regret at losing her. During the past season she had been the club’s top lady and had been of great benefit to it. The members hoped that in the Wairarapa, where her home would in future be, she would have tho opportunity to go on playing tennis, and wished her tho best of good luck. In suitable tc-rms Miss Lcitcli conveyed her thanks to the gathering and before dispersing all joined hands to sing "She’s a Jolly Good Fellow" and "Auld Lang Sync.” Miss Doris Anderson (secretary of the club)J who unfortunately was not able to attend the party, sent an apology for absence. Those present wore: Mcsdames Sinclair, Leitch, M. Finlayson, McFavlane, Ireland, Bismark, Misses M. and H. Leitch, E. Thompson, J. and D. McFarlane, D. and J. Dunstan, J. Wood, E. and D. Hill, D. and M. Ireland, M. Sinclair and Messrs. E. Sinclair M. Finlayson, L. Newell, F. Hill, A. Humphrey, C. Petersen, and T. and D. Sinclair.
