Tho footballers played a friendly match with Old Boys on Saturday, several members of both teams being absent owing to the representative match. They had quite a good game and the score ended 12 all. . , , , The ladies of tho district interested in the welfare of tho Plunket Society held a meeting in the school on F’riday afternoon. They arranged to hold an old-time social to help raise funds for the society and quito a pleasant evening should oventuate. A short but sharp eauthnuako was experienced shortly after midnight on Sunday. There was also a slight fall of snow, the higher levels being quite white on Monday. Mrs. A. Turner is at present on holiday. ■- Miss X. McPherson, of Martinborough, is the guest of Mrs. XI. Stewart.
