Mr. A. H. Rickard, a member of the literary staff of the “Manawatu Daily Times,” who underwent an operation in the Palmerston North Hospital on Saturday, is making satisfactory progress. Messrs T. C. List (New Plymouth), E. Vailo (Botorua), 0. Holst (Wanganui), D. V." Bryant (Hamilton), H. A. French (Hastings) and Dr. E. Marsdcn (Wellington), ail prominent Eotarians, are visiting Palmerston North., Tho death occurred suddenly on Saturday at Seaward Downs (Southland) of James Glennie, of Makarewa. Mr. Glennie, who was 03 years of age, had been friends and appeared to be iu his usual health. As he was leaving, he had trouble with his motorcycle and beforo ho could mount it, collapsed and died. —Press Association.
