Oroua Licensing Committee

ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Oroua Licensing Committee was held at the Fcilding Courthouse yesterday, Air J. L. Stout, S.M., presiding. There were also present Messrs 11. Booth, J. IV. Bramwell, E. Goodbcherc, Thos. Watson and F. G. Guy. The following renewals of licenses were approved:—Henry Evan .Tones, Huntcrvillo Hotel; William Harold Moon. Argvle Hotel, Iluntcrvillc: Emma McCarty, Commercial Hotel, Ashhurst; John McKenna, Royal Hotel, Bunnytliorpe; W. A". .Tones, Fcilding Hotel, Fcilding; W. T. Hook, Denbigh Hotel, Fcilding; Richard Be van, Empire Hotel, Fcilding; Harold Branch, Cheltenham Hotel; D. I’. Barrett, Manchester Hotel, Fcilding; Albert John Havill, Commercial Hotel, Kimbolton; John Collie, Eangiwahia Hotel; David Lindsay, Royal Hotel, Ohingaiti; W. J. Rodgers, Holcombe Hotel; Edwin Farrow, Langholm Hotel, Maugaweka. Licenses were, granted in the following cases: —Donna Swift, Apiti Hotel; K. F, B. Ilavill, Masonic Hotel, Ashhurst. Wholesale licenses were renewed as follow:—Barraud and Abraham, Ltd., Fcilding; Thos. Geo. Taylor and Co., Huntcrvillo; W. N. Watson, Mangawcka. At the conclusion of the business the chairman said the Bench wished to congratulate licensees on the fairly clean sheet. Unfortunately there had been one conviction in Iluntervillo to mar an otherwise clean sheet. He trusted that trouble responsible for this would not recur and that there would be a clean sheet for the next annual meeting.
